JMiz Moves for the The Stage

Jennifer has choreographed over 100 original modern dance works and has choreographed for musicals and plays alike. Her choreography has been honored by The American College Dance Association and she has done choreography residencies at Hendrix College, San Jose State, and The University of Memphis.

From Hair to Tartuffe, Jennifer has a vast knowledge of styles of dance for theatre.  With her training in modern and jazz dance, plus training in Period Dance and Social Dance (Waltz, Polk, Fox Trot, Swing & Tango), Jennifer knows how to bring the story to life through movement.

Jennifer also specializes in coaching Character Physicalization. Using the methods included in her chapter of The Laban Workbook for Actors: A Practical Guide with Video, she can help actors explore the physicality of the character in relationship to the character’s psychology. The actor is thus able to embody the character physically, emotionally and intellectually.
